OPC protest rally for Jega removal disrupt Lagosian’s commute, mass complaints ensues
A significant number of Lagos residents voiced their palpable displeasure yesterday, due to the distruption to traffic and general commuting yesterday the 16th of March after members of the Gani Adams faction of Oodua People's Congress OPC came out on a protest rally for removal of the INEC Chairman Attairu Jega. Many of the Lagos commuters complained about being stuck in hold ups for hours, while those who left home late were unable to make their appointments, there were some pictures showing pockets of the boisterous OPC members defacing some All Progressive Congress Posters along their route, and reports of some cars being vandalisted. However everything returned to normal late yesterday, the only sign of yesterdays distruption being projectiles littering the route yesterday.
It will be recalled that there has been pockets of vociferous protests against the INEC Chairman over his conduct of the elections and what some see as a pattern of unclear connections with unsubstantiated information alledging that the INEC Chairman had awarded contracts for printing of the PVC to a company linked to the opposition APC leader Asiwaju Tinubu, and what the PDP and their supporters see as a biased sharing of PVC,amongst other complaints in the run up to the highly divisive Presidential elections with mutual mistrust running at an all time high.
The OPC factional leader Gani Adams or the INEC Chairman are yet to issue an official response, although the social media has gone into meltdown with squabblings betweet the pro and anti supporters.
