Nigerian Air force helicopter crash,no casualty

The Nigerian Air Force has said no casualty was recorded in the accident involving one of its helicopters returning from training on Friday morning.

In a statement signed by the Air Force spokesperson, Dele Alonge, it was indicated that the accident was caused by “hydraulic failure”, resulting in serious damage to the aircraft.

“A Super Puma Helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on training mission in Lagos at about 10:00 a.m. this morning returning to the Apron after the completion of the training exercise suffered severe damage due to hydraulic failure while on taxi to the Hanger,” Alonge said.

The Air Force spokesman further said while there was no casualty, there was damage done to ground equipment cause by “Rotor debris” from the aircraft, adding that an investigation had been ordered.
