James Ibori on his way back to Nigeria from the United Kingdom
Snippets of information recently unearthed through one of his aides strongly suggests the former Governor of Delta State who has been serving a jail term in the United Kingdom will be returning back into Nigeria within the next couple of weeks sometime within April.
According to the information divulged by this aide, the former Governor who has been on tag and observing his bail conditions at an unknown address in the United Kingdom for a while now, has been running his Political network from the residence he has been sequestered in,but has kept a low profile in order to perfect and dispose of his legal issues without rocking the boat of the British legal and law enforcement .
His Aides have concluded arrangements to give him a befitting welcome and his Newspaper Daily Independent is undergoing renovations, with backlog of salary arrears cleared amongst other arrangements regarding his home coming. The Oghara Delta state political enigma is said to have also ironed out his differences with President Goodluck Jonathan, and pledged his unalloyed support regarding the upcoming elections. It will be recalled that James Ibori who stood as a staunch supporter of the late President Umaru Yar adua and his equally powerful first lady Turai Yar adua, was staunchly opposed to the emergence of his South South kinsman then Vice President Goodluck Jonathan as the substantive President after late Yar adua was deemed unfit to rule the country
It was much later on after Jonathan became President that Ibori ran foul of the law in Britain on charges regarding money laundring and theft of state resources after fleeing Nigeria to Dubai and finally ending up in the United Kingdom where he was arrested, tried and jailed for the offences.
