Delta State Students In Trinidad&Tobago Decry Terrible Conditions
There is a simmerring crisis brewing regarding the Delta state Youth Empowerment Programme, which if not nipped in the bud might adversely affect stewardship of Delta state Governor Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.According to Society news 90 beneficiaries who were sponsored by the Government to Trinidad&Tobago for a Government sanctioned vocational training programme,, are complaining bitterly as regards their treatment by the Coveners and those left in charge.
The students in an SOS sent to the Governor amidst other state officials are complaining bitterly about their welfare, they claim the state Deputy Governor Professor Amos Utuama in concert with a lady strongly suspected to be his mistress a barbadian Ms Donna St Hill, had siponed the allowance allocated for their feeding and accomodation putting them up in an hurricane prone hotel with no food water or basic amenities, due to a lack of water they have opted to use the chlorinated water from the hotel swimming pool to take their bath and scavenge where they can for food with one of them almost dying of food poisoning.According to them Ms St Hill in a bid to pre empt and undermine their complaints had sent messages claiming the students were unruly, and threatening them with deportation. The emails they have sent to Governor Uduaghan is yet to be answered, and calls and sms severally to the people in charge which include Commissioner for Higher Education Professor Hope Eghagha,Deputy Governor Amos Utuama and his media aide Austin Awode also went unanswered.
