Cold War Between Fashola and Tinubu Gets Worse

tinubu1

Contrary to the public display of support and solidarity former Governor of Lagos state and National leader of All Progressive Congress Asiwaju Tinubu and the Present Governor Fashola exhibit towards each other in Public, those in the know have revealed that the cold war between them have been intensifying but the public display only being maintained for the benefit of their political image and survival.According to the sources,Governor Fashola in the wake of the face off he had with Asiwaju Tinubu over choice of Governor which he lost out on,and also several other issues bordering on the Governor's insistence on independence in using his initiative to take official decisions has been standing his ground and publicly challenging Asiwaju Tinubu. The cold war between them came to a head recently over the tenure of outgoing Local Government chair persons.Asiwaju had asked Governor Fashola to extend their tenure in office, while first term Local Government Chairpersons should be given the automatic tickets but Governor Fashola who had a divergent opinion had flatly refused the suggestion. This latest incident is the most recent in a series of persistent pattern of belligirence which the Governor has displayed to Tinubu's face, often times publicly disagreeing with the former Governor to the shock of many followers who knows the implications of this normally. However Asiwaju Tinubu probably due to the implications of what is at stake, has been taking a more temperate and peaceful path by letting peace reign considering he has more to lose at this stage if they both have a permanent falling out.Governor Fashola on the other hand has not hidden his overriding quest to have his own independent political platform, which he has been asiduously working on and which was the reason he was unnable to perform as creditably as he did in his first term.It will be recalled that their cod war preceeded the second term, and it resulted in Tinubu's insistence on not supporting him for a second term until several people waded in and sorted their issues out.
