Anger in Ibadan Community as PDP Governorship aspirant removes transformer formerly donated
It was a heady mix of emotions for the people of Sabo community in Ibadan on Sunday morning, when they beheld some individuals removing the transformer recently donated to them by the People's Democratic Party Gubanitorial candidate in the last election, Senator Teslim Folarin.
As they confronted the men removing the transformer perhaps thinking they were thieves, they go the shock of their lives when they realised same Senator Teslim Folarin had instructed them to remove the Transformer, ostensibly because the community did not vote for him in the last election contributing to him coming a distant 4th behind the incumbent Governor Ajimobi, former Governor Ladoja who came second and former Governor Alao Akala who came third.
As the members of the community led a protest to the residence of their local traditional leader, the Sarkin Hausawa Alhaji Ahmed Dahiru Zungeru, the Sarkin Hausawa in turn reached out to Senator Teslim Folarin's local representative in the area Alhaji Bashiru MaiBorno who tried to resolve the issue by appealing to the Senator to return the Transformer but the community members flatly refused vowing that they will never accept the transformer back. When Alhaji MaiBorno was asked for his reaction by journalists,he confirmed the incident but claimed the Senator Folarin a man of his words simply removed the transformer "To keep in a safer place"
The newly installed incumbent Governor when he heard of the incident perhaps sensing some political gains in it, quickly arranged for a brand new transformer to be installed in place of the removed one.
Senator Teslim Folarin is yet to offer any explanation or response to the incident
