The former Governor of Oyo state who is re contesting on the platform of Labour party Otunba Alao Akala has blamed the present Governor Ajimobi for what he terms his financial inexperience.According to the Labour party Gubernitorial aspirant, the state requires a level of financial innovation which are more far reaching and effective than those being used by the present Governor.
Former Governor Akala speaking through his director of public affairs Oludare Ogunlana asserted that during his tenure in 2011 he raised the internally generated revenue of the state from only 200Million naira he met it in 2007 to 1billion naira by 2011.He continues while condemning Governor Ajimobi's lack of financial incentive it is ‘shameful’ for this government to be realising a paltry N1 billion as IGR out of which N700 million comes from tax collected from workers while the remaining is generated from the markets and the private sector.”
While on the subject he also condemned the penchant of the present Oyo state Government to owe workers who toil day and night to run the Government salaries. While decrying the Government's revenue collection "How would a government which prides itself as the most prudent employed a consultant that takes 20 percent of the revenue?“This is a complete fraud of which Labour Party government will stop once we take power on May 29, 2015 as we shall ensure increase in IGR through agriculture and industrialisation.”
Concluding his statement,he urged the indigenes of the state not to despair or be discouraged as his party were on a rescue mission to save the state from those he termed "Political Gluttons who are out to milk thr state dry"
